New, Refurbished or Scratch and Dent?
What is the difference?
New items are, of course, brand new from the factory. They always come with a manufacturer warranty, usually for 1 year. While new items are usually not the best bargain, they offer better features and more peace of mind vs. refurbished.
Refurbished items come in two varieties. First, there are factory refurbished items. They usually have a 1 year manufacturer warranty, with the option of an extended warranty. These items offer good features and like-new condition at a substantially lower cost than new, usually at a %30 discount.
Items refurbished by Austin Appliance Connection come standard with a 90-day parts and labor warranty serviced by the company. While they are not eligible for an extended warranty, they provide the very best value, with savings of at least %60 off the price of new.
Scratch and Dent
Scratch and dent is a term to describe new items that are discounted due to some physical damage incurred during the shipping process. They represent an excellent value, while offering the features and condition of a new item. Scratch and dent items often sell at a %20 discount from the new item price.
